Dr. Donald E. Durbin has served the Alexander City area for nearly five decades.
"Dr. D," as most people call him, has helped thousands of people resolve painful problems, and regain their health by using a "whole person approach". This means finding and treating the underlying "causes" of health problems, instead of just treating the "symptoms". Using this approach, Dr. Durbin is able to help accelerate and maintain your journey to good health.
Dr. Durbin has served in many positions of leadership in his profession. He was named Alabama Chiropractor of the Year three times. He served three terms as President of the Alabama State Chiropractic Association, and was elected President of the Southeastern Chiropractic Federation. He served two terms on the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He also received the Lifetime Achiever Award from the Alabama State Chiropractic Association.
But, in Dr. Durbin's words;
"The most important achievements of my life have come in my daily work of helping people enjoy the benefits of better health.
I grew up as a country boy, near the small village of Villa Ridge, in Eastern Missouri; From my early childhood, I wanted to be a doctor. Early-on, I thought I would become a medical doctor, but during the time I was enrolling in pre-med school, I met a chiropractor who changed the direction of my life.
Once this good doctor explained the difference between "treating disease" and "treating the cause of disease" I was, in my minds-eye, a chiropractor.
What a blessing is has been to see people with chronic health problems return to productive lives, without the use of drugs. . . I can think of nothing that could have given me more satisfaction, through the years, than helping families understand health, and live happier and more productive lives."
