St Peters Chiropractic Newsletter from Old Mill Chiropractic for May 2016
Yes, similar to the St Peters chiropractic treatment of back pain and neck pain using Cox Technic flexion distraction, knee sufferers (like those with knee osteoarthritis) are finding relief with distraction of the knee. These French researchers have developed a surgical distraction procedure (separate the knee joint surgically and keep it that way for 2 months with an external metal frame!). (1) New protocols are in development now and being tested that don’t require surgery to distract the knee joint, just hands-on flexion distraction of the knee joint. (Thanks to Dr. Luigi Albano for first documenting this! (7)).
Patients who have expectations of relief experience higher satisfaction with treatment. (2) Old Mill Chiropractic always want to fully share realistic outcome expectations with our St Peters chiropractic care. Sometimes 50% is an excellent outcome. If you can walk your dog again, you may be very pleased with care. Further, back surgery outcomes for low back and leg pain due to spinal stenosis showed 53% of surgically treated and 50% of non-surgically treated report improvement of back pain. (3) Trust Old Mill Chiropractic to have an honest talk about expected clinical outcomes.
VISION IMPROVED WITH CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Spinal manipulation in this research study showed immediate effects on visual acuity. Vision improvement was statistically significant after chiropractic cervical spine manipulation. The researchers look forward to now doing a larger scale study. (4) The effects of chiropractic treatment keep coming! Old Mill Chiropractic is excited to share chiropractic with our St Peters patients, friends and family!
There is such a thing as musculoskeletal chest pain. There is such a thing as acute, non-specific chest pain of musculoskeletal origin. Those sound like back pain classifications! Heart researchers are reporting that chiropractic care is cost-effective and increases the quality of life of these heart patients! (5) Old Mill Chiropractic invites our St Peters chiropractic patients to bring their hearts with them to the next St Peters chiropractic appointment!
CHIROPRACTIC CARE COSTS LESS FOR NECK PAIN
When a referral service or provider referral is involved in the care of neck pain (uncomplicated and complicated), fees are affected. MD/PT care is more expensive on average than MD/DC care. Chiropractic care alone or care without referrers in the middle is less expensive, too. (6) Referrals from our St Peters chiropractic patients to their friends and family are always appreciated!
